Google Chrome - Behind the Open Source Web Browser Project

There has been talks that Microsoft has planned on making newer versions of Internet Explorer non-compatible with certain web applications and specifically Google's web applications.  This is only part of the reason that google has decided to make there own open source web browser.  Google has always been an advocate of open source browsers hence their backing the Firefox project by Mozilla for years. 

One thing that does not make since about this new google web browser release is the fact that they just signed a new multi-million dollar contract with Mozilla to keep Google the default search on the Fire Fox web browser.  I am sure google has there own reasons for this and it will all make since in the near future.

Google offers many old and many new features to web browsing.  One feature that I think is a big jump in the right direction is the fact that each tab is ran in seperate memory space.  This effectivly stops the possiblility of the browser ever crashing, if one of the tabs runs into trouble, that tab and that tab only closes, Nice!

Just when you thought google was out of tricks up there sleeves they suprise you again.  This is a big step for google as a company and the internet as a whole. 

The only real question that this bring to my mind is "How long until google releases the Google OS?"   It has been discussed for years that google has been secretly working on there own Operation System and this makes one think that they may not be that far away from the most earth shaking release of alltime!
